What the parents have to say....

"We love the worship dance...Maya sings the song and dances to it all the time which is another connection and understanding of God that she wouldn't have without you.  Also, Alyssa, you are the most patient woman, you really know how to connect and teach the younger girls and make them feel accomplished.  Maya cannot wait for the next class, she talks about it constantly (in a good way!)." ~Shauna Moench

"Last year when we told her therapist and her doctor that she was taking dance they were thrilled. Dr. Levin said he believes all kids, boys and girls should take dance for a variety of reasons. It's so therapeutic and in Lana's case it's great for balance and core issues and for right vs left which she continues to have trouble with."  ~Linda Smith

Vision Statement
Master's Dance seeks to provide dance education and events to the community that build character, build families and build Godly lives.

Mission Statement
Master's Dance Academy is a dance studio committed to teaching and performing with honor, excellence, and faith. Its goal is to train hearts of dancers from a very young age to express their faith in God and their honor to God through their love of dance and movement. All girls need affirmation, acceptance, and affection, especially from their fathers. Since we live in a fallen world, sometimes girls just don't get what they need at times to grow up with a healthy view of themselves in order to make wise choices.  We desire to meet these needs in our girl dancers as we point them to their Heavenly Father through our dance training. Excellence in all dance is realized and expected through curriculum, study, preparation and practice on behalf of the teachers and students.

We are a faith-based dance school located in the heart of Valparaiso, IN.  We are using a studio in Bridgepoint Church.  We welcome dancers of all ages and religious affiliations.  Also, you do not have to be a Christian to participate, but open to it! We strive to worship God through our dance by allowing the dance display a message from the Bible or our lives as influenced by God as the Maker and Master of all things. We speak openly about Christ in our classes and welcome discussion about spiritual matters to support others in their learning of faith in God.

We also desire to have dancers in our classes with disabilities. We don't see the disability, we see the abilities they have as they teach us more about God's compassion and humility. We have some children with disabilities integrated into our regular classes, but also have a class just for dancers with Autism and Down Syndrome in order to give them more time and personal attention.

We are located in Bridgepoint Church (Washington St. entrance, by Always Learning Preschool) and if you do not have a home church we recommend checking it out, however, we are not affiliated with any particular Christian denomination.  We encourage people to carefully search God’s Word as they make their own decisions concerning various denominational and doctrinal beliefs.

We believe “all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, being justified as a gift by His grace through the redemption which is in Christ Jesus” (Romans 2:23-4, NASB) As Christians we believe the Bible as God's Word and we firmly acknowledge the inerrancy of it as it is written and its influence on the way we view the world and our lives.

Faith in Jesus Christ and the authority of the Scripture is the driving force for our school.  This school was developed because of faith in Jesus and the director’s goal to train dancers to know who they are in Christ and who God is in order to develop a fear of Him which motivates them to obey Him. Master’s Dance Academy strives to have excellent ballet and dance training, however, its goal is not fame or self-glorification, but honoring God for what He has given us. Our school verse is Romans 12:1-2, “Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship. 2Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.”

Master's Dance began as an after-school praise dance program at Victory Christian Academy in Valparaiso, IN in 2003.  Alyssa first became inspired to teach praise dance while teaching physical education and Bible classes at VCA.  Alyssa Chirch, Owner and Instructor, began meeting with a group after school in preparation for dancing in the Christmas program that year and each semester children would run up to her and ask for more! Since then, she has taught preschool through high school as well as praise dance camps during the summers! Alyssa began teaching fall and spring sessions on an ongoing basis, which has grown to over 10 years.  It has always been her dream to open a studio!
